About PDFNa
PDFNa is a set of 26 free PDF tools that run entirely inside your browser. Files up to 20MB are processed on your own device, so nothing is uploaded to a server.
Short answer: PDFNa is a small, independent project run by SRK from India. Every tool runs client-side, so your documents never leave your device. There is no account, no trial, and no paid tier.
Who runs PDFNa
PDFNa is maintained by SRK, based in India. It is a one-person project: the same person who builds the tools answers the support email.
The work is focused on one idea. Most online PDF converters upload your document to a server, process it there, and send it back. That step is unnecessary for the common operations, and it means a copy of your file passes through infrastructure you do not control. PDFNa does the work with JavaScript running in your own browser instead.
How the tools work
Each tool loads a small script and an open-source PDF library. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory and hands the bytes to that script. The output is generated on your device and saved straight to your downloads.
- Your file is read locally. There is no upload step and no progress bar showing a server receiving it.
- Processing uses your device's memory and processor, which is why the limit is 20MB rather than something larger.
- Close the tab and the data is gone. Nothing is retained, cached or backed up on a server.
What we record
PDFNa keeps a simple traffic counter so we can see which tools people use and whether pages are working. It records the page you visited, a rotating anonymous identifier, the referring site's domain, and your browser and operating system. It does not record your files, file names, document contents or your IP address as part of the traffic stats. The privacy page has the specifics.
Honest limitations
A browser-based approach has trade-offs, and it is better to say so than to let you find out later.
- Files are capped at 20MB, and 10 files at once for the merge tool. Bigger documents are better suited to desktop software.
- PDF to PowerPoint produces a slide image of each page rather than editable text, so it is meant for presenting and sharing, not re-typesetting.
- PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint extract text and structure. Complex multi-column or heavily formatted documents may not convert perfectly.
- Scanned PDFs contain images of text, not text. Converting them to Word or Excel will not produce editable content without OCR.
- Unlocking a PDF requires the password, or an owner password that you are authorised to use. It removes protection; it does not guess passwords.
- Optimize reduces file size through structural re-encoding. Image-heavy files often shrink very little, and the tool shows the real saving.
Why it is free
There is no paid plan and no account. Because the tools run on your device, PDFNA has almost no hosting cost to recover. The trade-off is that we cannot offer server-side features such as OCR on large scanned files or batch processing in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who runs PDFNa?
PDFNa is run by SRK from India. There is no team behind it and no sales team to contact — the same person who builds the tools answers the email.
Is PDFNa really free?
Yes. Every tool on PDFNa is free, with no account, no trial and no watermark. There is no paid tier.
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?
No. The tools run as JavaScript inside your browser, so your file is read and written on your own device. Closing the tab discards it. The only data PDFNa’s server receives is an anonymous pageview used for traffic counts.
Why is there a 20MB limit?
Because the work happens on your device rather than on a server with spare capacity. 20MB is the point where a document still completes quickly on an ordinary laptop or phone. Larger files would use a lot of your device’s memory and could crash the tab.
Can I use PDFNa for commercial documents?
Yes. Use the tools for whatever you like, including work you are paid for. Because files are processed locally, you can handle confidential documents without sending them to a third party.
How do I report a problem or request a tool?
Email admin@pdfna.com with the tool name and a description of what went wrong. If a file failed to process, describing the file type and page count helps a lot. Bug reports are the most welcome kind of email.
